To all of you who are interested in the new Lunatic Soul album coming out this year: I’d like to let you know that the album… is still in the making. But I’m slowly getting closer to the finishing line. The biggest challenge in this final phase, however, turns out to be fitting all the music onto… two vinyl records.
When I announced that the new Lunatic Soul album would be 90 minutes long and a double album, I was asked, „so, how many vinyl discs will there be? Four?”
And that’s when, with a heavy heart, I always think of those vinyl releases where an album is, say, 50 minutes long, and the publishers decide to make it a “double album” on vinyl, with one side only about 12 minutes long. I’ve experienced this issue myself a few times (for example, with Lunatic Soul II).
No, not four – just two. Only two records. I want a traditional double vinyl album, meaning 2 x 45 minutes. So, 22.5 minutes per side. And you know what that means? Rearranging, shifting things around, constantly changing the order. Fortunately, and this is what I wanted to share today, I’ve finally managed to do it.
At least the order of tracks is now finalised.

Wszystkich zainteresowanych nowym, ukazującym się w tym roku albumem Lunatic Soul chciałbym poinformować, że album… wciąż się tworzy. Ale powoli zbliżam się do brzegu. Największym wyzwaniem w tej ostatniej fazie jest jednak, jak się okazuje, upchanie całej tej muzyki na… dwóch winylach.
Kiedy ogłosiłem, ze nowy Lunatic Soul będzie miał 90 minut i będzie albumem podwójnym zadano mi pytanie – to ile będzie tych winylowych krążków? Cztery?
I tu zawsze z ciężkim sercem przywołuję na myśl winylowe wydawnictwa, gdzie płyta ma np. 50 minut i wydawcy decydują się na „podwójne albumy” na winylach i jedna strona ma np. 12 minut. Sam tak mam parę razy (np. Lunatic Soul II dotykają takie bolączki).
Nie, nie cztery – dwa. Tylko dwa krążki. Chcę mieć podwójny winylowy album w starym stylu, czyli 2 x 45 minut. A więc po 22,5 minuty na stronę. I wiecie co to oznacza? Kombinacje, przekładańce, co rusz zmiany kolejności. Na szczęście – i tu właśnie chciałem się dzisiaj pochwalić – nareszcie mi się udało.
Przynajmniej układ utworów mam już skończony.
