We have been friends with Magda and Robert for 18 years. Throughout this time, we’ve made over 15 albums. So I won’t lie if I say that Serakos Studio, which they own, has practically become my home studio, and recording sessions have turned into rituals essential for my survival. If we were to count all the hours we’ve spent talking and all the hours we’ve spent recording, I’m not quite sure if there were more of the latter, but, as they say, the more time you spend chatting while in the studio, the better the final result 🙂
Writing music can be done anywhere, in the shower, bedroom, living room while you’re stretching. WIth a towel on your head, you can create outlines of songs, demos, but if you treat music seriously and professionally, you have to have an opportunity to leave your home and “go to work”. With years, Serakos has become the main place (after the Riverside rehearsal room) where I spend most of my time away from home. And surely it wouldn’t be possible if Magda, Robert and I didn’t share our music roots, views, interests, philosophy of life, if we didn’t understand or simply didn’t like each other. (Although, after so many years, perhaps we should check our status :))
Some of you will have noticed that, for a few months, I have been posting on social media short clips and pictures from a familiar place. So let me officially confirm that one, yes, there is a new dog in Serakos Studio, and two, yes, this year, in early autumn, I will release another album, about which, by means of building suspense, I will be telling you more soon.
For now, the three of us, or rather the four of us are sending you warmest regards. And again – the best wishes for the new year! 🙂
