I am not a Viking. I do not want to make music which sounds like it comes from Denmark, Sweden, or Norway, there are artists like Danheim, Myrkur, or Heilung, who do that better. Lunatic Soul is always going to be Lunatic Soul, so for instance – I didn’t want to play the violins, hurdy-gurdy or other folk instruments just because I had an idea for a folk album. And so we have here mainly acoustic guitars, bass guitars, keyboards, and percussions. Yep, I am a rock guy. But thanks to that, the core sound and character of Lunatic Soul haven’t changed.
As a big fan of Dead Can Dance, I have also always wanted to make music “not from this world”, mystical and mysterious, folk, oriental, close to nature. The first Lunatic Soul releases were like that, then it all went in a different direction. But the new album is a continuation of the first two, it’s a return to the roots. Literally and figuratively.

Nie jestem Wikingiem. Nie chcę tworzyć muzyki, która będzie brzmiała jak muzyka z Danii, Szwecji czy Norwegii, od tego są tacy wykonawcy jak Danheim, Myrkur czy Heilung. Lunatic Soul miał pozostać Lunatic Soulem. Dlatego też np. nie chciałem grać na tej płycie na skrzypcach, hurdy-gurdy czy innych takich. Mamy głównie gitary akustyczne, basy, klawisze i perkusjonalia. Tak, jestem rockowcem. Ale dzięki temu mam zachowany charakter Lunatic Soul.
Jako wielki fan Dead Can Dance, zawsze chciałem też tworzyć „muzykę nie z tego świata”. Mistyczną i tajemniczą. Folkową, orientalną, związaną z naturą. Pierwsze płyty Lunatic Soul takie były, potem skręciło to w inną stronę. Najnowszy album jest kontynuacją dwóch pierwszych płyt i powrotem do korzeni. Dosłownie i w przenośni.
