I don’t know about you, but for me, the past six months have flown by in a blink of an eye. Perhaps it’s because I confined myself to a specific monotony in order to properly get through this, let’s be honest, less than ideal period, this difficult and emotionally intense time for all of us. This monotony in the “shelter of mine” was rather pleasant, although quite exhausting, too. I can feel it now.
Riverside were on a break, during which each of us concentrated on different activities. I was obviously, as usual, drawn to the Serakos Studio, where I came up with more than just the new Lunatic Soul album.
And so a big thank you goes to everyone who have supported me in this new solo project, purchased my stuff on bandcamp, subscribed to my YT channel, visited my new website mariuszduda.md, and who have not complained too much about the lack of physical media. “The Song of a Dying Memory”, “Are You Ready for the Sun” and “Lockdown Spaces” allowed me to keep my music worlds apart and, at the same time, to start something new, which will definitely keep developing and one day might grow in directions connected with the so-called idea of “leaving the comfort zone”. Thank you to the people who have helped me achieve that: Magda and Robert Srzednicki, Rob Palmen, Hajo Müller, Maciek Gołyźniak, and Chloë Alper, and to everyone who have sent me their kind words – big hugs to all of you with no regard for proper social distancing.
I will go back to my MD project at the beginning of next year, and now it’s time to return to my basic worlds.
All the fans of physical media can now breathe a sigh of relief because both Riverside and Lunatic Soul are preparing something for collectors this year. There will be two live releases from Riverside (more about them soon on the band’s website), and two versions of the new Lunatic Soul album, standard and extended. The release date of the latter is fast approaching and on September 10th, I will reveal the exact date, as well as the cover, the title, and the tracklist of perhaps the most ambitious and elaborate work in my career. So be ready.
For now, my warmest regards and thanks for your ongoing support.
