01.01.25

Some time ago, I was given an unusual gift called a “coaching calendar.” Each day included a motivational note, and there was also a “weekly jar.” You were supposed to put “things” you were grateful for over the past week into the jar to help you feel that life has meaning.

I gave up around February.

Still, looking back, there were a few “jar-worthy” moments in 2024 for which I am genuinely grateful, mainly to my family and friends. There were some good events, interesting people, and places I had never seen before. But, in a nutshell, 2024 was not a good year for me, and I’m glad it’s over.

However, to pull myself out of this slightly gloomy tone and end on a positive note, let me remind you that the end of one year and the beginning of the next is usually a time of so-called hope for change. And these changes, let’s be honest, are always the ones we most want to happen.

Changes for the better.

So, if I may, amidst all the New Year’s wishes coming your way – many just courteous, a few genuinely heartfelt – I would like to add my own.

Above all, I wish that, before March 2025 sneaks up on us all unexpectedly, you’ll start seeing at least half of your New Year’s resolutions come to life – especially those involving changes for the better. I hope that in this new year, you’ll finally tackle all those things you’ve been putting off. That you’ll take the plunge where you’ve hesitated before. And, most importantly, that you’ll start taking better care of yourself. Not others. Yourself. Because when you take care of yourself first, there’s more of you for everyone else too.

And, of course, good health. You can buy everything else yourselves.

See you sometime, somewhere in the new year!
